About the Author
My experiences will hopefully help others who may have had similar doubts, queries or experiences that God was doing something within them.
I was born 1933 and grew up in Melbourne, Victoria with only minimal schooling which was normal in those earlier days. My father died when I was young leaving my mother to raise my sister and I.
I worked in a pharmacy for 5 ½ years then I entered the convent of the Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, with a deep desire to look after the lepers, I remained there for 8 months after which I thought it was not my calling so returned home.
At 26, I married and had 5 children which kept me busy raising them, as well as helping in various family businesses throughout the years with my husband Jim. After the sudden death of Jim in 1992, I was aware something was different within my spiritual life.
All during my life I kept things to myself especially spiritual things, but when this change became obvious to me I started to keep a personal diary thinking no one would ever read it. – How wrong I was!! My Faith had always been strong but it was really tested at this stage of life as I thought I was having a breakdown after the sudden death of my husband.
After many years of writing in my diary I had the strong feeling Jesus was asking me to write a book on my “journey”, I did not want to reveal these things as they were personal, but if it was Jesus’ Will then I knew I would do it as I had given myself to Him to do whatever was asked of me. After receiving Jesus in Holy Communion I asked did He really want this done, expecting a Yes or No I was stunned when the reply was “ I will help you”.
I have also put together a collection of prayers and thoughts which I believe are not my thoughts, as I usually get only one or two words in my mind then know I have to write. Once I start writing, it keeps flowing, uninterrupted until finished.
Since the release of “Glory to God” I have had wonderful and positive feedback, so I pray that you can learn something from what has been written.
I am currently involved with Marian Valley Retreat Centre which is a Catholic Shrine at Canungra, operated by Pauline Fathers (order of St Paul 1st Hermit), it is a place where people can come and have prayer time and reflection with the Lord.
